The school serves as a meeting place and is represented using large concentric circles in the middle of the canvas. It is a place where people come together to grow and where there is a strong sense of belonging. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors, staff and students travel together into the future with the valuable knowledge passed on from elders. Their footprints run parallel to the songlines connecting staff, students and community to the school. The stars at the top on the canvas pay tribute to the ancestors that have passed. At the base of the canvas the rocks on the land represent the solid foundation on which the school stands. I am a proud indigenous woman and paint contemporary Aboriginal artworks that convey a narrative. I love to create original pieces that are personalised and colourful. I was born on Gayemagal country and raised on Awabakal land. My ancestors were born and raised on Bundalung country. I have a strong connection to the ocean which is often reflected in the pieces I create through the use of both colour and movement.
